Hi there! I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and well.
It has been a month since Ecuador declared a total lockdown due to the virus in the hopes to flatten the curve.
Thankfully the entire G.VITERI team is safe. Our artisans are doing well. Their province (Azuay) continues to be one of the less affected. However, the cooperatives remain closed and all roads are closed at least for one more week. Fortunately the majority of the artisans have their own farm animals and crops, which helps a lot during these hard times.
As many of you, I’ve had my ups and downs during quarantine. Most of my days are full of gratitude, energy and positive thinking. However, I do have some moments where I’m overrun by fear and despair.
I have been trying to keep my mind and body active during this time at home, limiting my time on Twitter/watching the news and focusing on positive thoughts.
Don’t feel pressure to be productive or meet certain standards. Our only goal should be to navigate through this as better as we can, without comparing ourselves to others. Each of us lives a unique situation and has different ways to cope.
I would like to share with you some resources that have helped me navigate this emotional rollercoaster with a more positive attitude. I hope this brings a little bit of joy and positive vibes.
I’ll try to update each entry and to write more in detail about some of my favorite topics like gardening, cooking and travel inspiration.
Sending lots of love and hope during these difficult times. We will get through this together.
Please stay safe and let’s support each other.
Do you have any tips or advice you’d like to share with us?
x
Gaby
